I've recently come into some pretty rewarding freelance design opportunities, at which I could not have been more thrilled because it was finally something I enjoyed doing to no end. It started when I spent some time filling in for a friend at her job while she went out of town for about a month. Being it a small and cozy, intimate sort of office complex, I got to know her boss as well as the other tenants on a professional level, which really expanded my overall outlook on the corporate world -- the very place I am marketing my skills to.

He asked me initially to design for him a logo to set him apart from the hordes of competition in his practice. So after a few concept consultations and logo variations, we agreed on this -- which I then applied to several stationary items to complete the look of his company's overall brand.

For the record, I still despise the thought of having a full-time, nine to five job in a small windowless box every day. But at least for a few weeks, I sat at a desk and enjoyed the subtle quirks of office life, while having the opportunity to brand a business from the very location the designs would be used.
