Design Services

Though I was technically trained as an illustrator, the elements and principles of design and composition remain the same. When I couldn't pay the bills fresh out of school with skills that are easily replaced with the rise in stock images websites, I realized that I could still use the knowledge I gained at art school to solve many of the same problems businesses face every day. They might not need to purchase a custom illustration when nearly any image can be sourced from stock sites, but they might still need help with overall layout and text to go with that image. And sometimes, I too now will make use of a stock image to save time from having to draw it myself or learn a technique I'm unfamiliar with on short notice. Besides, I have such a love for typography that I almost wish I had switched majors halfway through my time at school. But I honestly didn't know I loved design until I was introduced to Adobe Illustrator. 

Go figure, right?

These icons were fun to make too! They're almost like a small family of logos, separate yet related. A set of these can greatly benefit any design where visibility timeframe is key. Billboards and car magnets get a second or two of attention, menus are being viewed by hungry and, at times, impatient eyes looking for information quickly. Icons can help you separate your information into sections that are easy to locate and read without frustration.

The human brain responds to symbols much quicker than text, and customers appreciate when they don't have to work as hard to get to where they need to be. Whether that be online, in a print catalog or brochure, or even inside a grocery store, this type of custom project can add layers of subconscious context to your overall design and identify with a wider audience of viewers without the need for translation in multiple languages.
